Many of you may be aware of Nextdoor, the local networking service, but with more and more people choosing to shop nearby, the platform, is becoming even more popular with local communities.
But what exactly is Nextdoor and what could it mean for your business?…..
Nextdoor is a free, social network that people use to connect with neighbours, get recommendations, organise events, post alerts and take advantage of local services. This provides business owners a platform to:
- Engage the local community in which they operate
- Share offers and deals with local people – i.e. people that can easily take advantage of services
- Understand their brand and their local reputation
- See recommendations and what consumers are talking about
- Give customers a chance to review their experience
Nextdoor really does embrace your local vicinity. Some social media platforms offer targeting tools to help people find their local business audience, but Nextdoor is different. It starts local and remains that way. For businesses, that means targeting nearby customers is easy – which, in turn, allows consumers to truly support their community.
To set up a business page on Nextdoor, you will need a regular Nextdoor account, in the same way you need a personal Facebook page to set up a business Facebook page. Simply download the App or visit the Nextdoor website
On registration, you will be given the opportunity to claim your business – and you can then ask your customer to recommend you.
You can register by clicking here.
At the time of writing, Nextdoor is used in 11 countries, with over 270,000 neighbourhoods on board*
